Fuel for camp stoves on Catalina Island?
My boyfriend and I are going camping at the Two Harbors campground next weekend. I have a JetBoil camping stove I'd like to take with me, but I'm being told we can't bring any camp stove fuel at all on the boats. Has anyone else gone camping on Catalina recently? I'm wondering if most people just cook over a fire or resort to buying fuel on the island. After speaking with someone at the Two Harbors general store, I highly doubt fuel for my stove will be available. My boyfriend's considering buying a more typical stove, for which fuel is more likely available on the island. But I'm not sure it'd be worth buying fuel there for just one night. Any input would be great.

some camping stoves contain liquid C4H10 they work only when the outside temperature is warm enough
the butane to have a reasonable vapor pressure so they are not very good for camping in temperature below about 0 centigrade. Assume the enthalpy of vaporization of butane is 24.3 kj/mol . if the camp stove fuel tank contains 190.g liquid c4h10 how much heat energy transfer is required to vaporize all of the butane?

What do you think of butane camp stoves?
I am thinking of the environmental impact side. I suppose that a campsite that has a wood-fueled fire would have a much greater environmental impact, but butane also has a negative impact.
I'm fairly certain that even the most extreme environmentalists wouldn''t say that a wood fire or a butane stove is going to affect the ... See More

About camping ovens...?
Is there any sort of portable oven, grill, or whatever, that you could use that is simply like buy it once & use it forever without paying another cent? Something where you don't need electricity, or have to refill the gas, or replace anything, or pay for anything else. I just want a no hassle, easy, long lasting, portable camping oven. Does such a thing exist or am I doomed!? PS I know fire would be one solution, but anything beside that.
