My boyfriend and I are going camping at the Two Harbors campground next weekend. I have a JetBoil camping stove I'd like to take with me, but I'm being told we can't bring any camp stove fuel at all on the boats. Has anyone else gone camping on Catalina recently? I'm wondering if most people just cook over a fire or resort to buying fuel on the island. After speaking with someone at the Two Harbors general store, I highly doubt fuel for my stove will be available. My boyfriend's considering buying a more typical stove, for which fuel is more likely available on the island. But I'm not sure it'd be worth buying fuel there for just one night. Any input would be great.

I bought a barbeque grill that uses 1 pound propane cannisters. The instructions say to only use this type. what do the numbers mean? I mean the nuber DOT- 39 NRC 228/286. the barbeque says only to use this type. but I boght some at the store that have a number more like 230/290. what's the difference???

I have a dual fuel (kenmore) coleman 2 burner camp stove & no lighting instructions! I get a big flame before the burner but nothing at the burner,how do you light one of these things without burning down the campsite ! HELP !

I am thinking of the environmental impact side. I suppose that a campsite that has a wood-fueled fire would have a much greater environmental impact, but butane also has a negative impact.

It's going to be for car camping, he's already got a backpacking stove. We live in Colorado, it can get pretty cold. What's the difference between propane stoves and liquid fuel? I'm looking at the Coleman website and can't make up my mind. Any recommendations would be great too. Thanks.
